The world is made up of an infinite number of small vignettes, slices of fleeting images that together create the whole picture. What you choose to see and which pieces you combine determine your visual world. This is the philosophy behind Tessera Photographic Arts and the collective images of Debra Doenges & Andrew Teakle. Debra & Andrew became partners in 1999 after meeting while both on photographic expeditions in America. Their individual vision of the world and complementary styles provide an array of images for their clients spanning 4 continents.

Andrew Teakle

Andrew Teakle has been taking photographs seriously for almost 20 years and professionally for the last 10 years. Whilst he has photographed in North America, Indonesia and New Zealand, his main focus has been on photographing the nature of Australia. Andrew photographs all aspects of the natural world including dramatic light imagery, grand scenics, texture and patterns, birds and wildlife, and macro photography. He also specialises in Travel Photography.

"Every place has a magic time when its essential beauty is fully revealed. Whether it is when the first warm rays of the sun strike or being surrounded by a heavy mist, experiencing this time is one of the greatest joys in life. Capturing the moment to share with others helps me relive that time."

Andrew Teakle's photography has been published by The Wilderness Society, the Australian Conservation Foundation, Hallmark calendars, Artique Designs calendars, and Australian photography magazines. His work has also been sold through the Australian National Parks & Wildlife Service. He has been involved in several photographic exhibitions with his partner, Debra Doenges.

Debra Doenges

" I see patterns in the world around me; structures of texture and color that are universal to all life. My instinct is to isolate these patterns from the visual chaos, arranging the elements into compositions that take the viewer from their familiar world into an illusory scene."

Debra Doenges has been a nature and travel photographer for over 20 years. She has photographed extensively in Australia and the United States, with work from Central America, Europe, and New Zealand included in her portfolio. She uses both digital cameras and medium format film. Her work is held in private and commercial collections and is represented by galleries in Seattle, Washington and Scottsdale, Arizona. She has been published in books and magazines in Australia and the USA with her client list including Australian Geographic, The Wilderness Society, Australian Conservation Foundation, Hallmark, the Australian National Parks & Wildlife Service and such international companies as Boeing.

Debra received a Bachelor of Fine Arts & Design at Southern Illinois University in the United States. Her curriculum was developed as part of the Special Majors Program and integrated studies in Photographic Arts, traditional Fine Arts and Design as well as Creative Writing and Business.
